Pembery THS
Another fantastic THS here in the heart of the park with its 7 miles of beach, Forest walks, cycling and more, 6 nights here please. To say it’s hot is an understatement, 31 degrees in the shade this afternoon. Consequently not done a lot the last couple of days, but this morning we walked the coastal path to Burry Port Harbour for a bit of shopping! We had a couple of mornings on the beach and even a swim.

Cheddar stopover
We had a few days in Cheddar with a visit by bus to Wells. The rain stopped, so we packed butties and headed out to Cheddar reservoir. It’s only a 2.2 mile circuit round but some how we managed 7 miles! We dropped down into the lovely village of Axbridge with its beautiful church and King John’s Hunting Lodge, before rejoining the reservoir path and back to site. Cheddar Gorge day. A mountain goat day, well that’s what it felt like and my legs this morning think so! Fantastic

We walked back into Torquay via the grounds, lovely day out. Bus to Paignton then another to Bohemian Totnes! Just loved it, the quirky shops, the buzz of the place, it was market day, antique stalls, foods from around the world, dancing in the street, birds of prey sitting on a wall and the peace and q

Kingswear, Dartmouth and Dittisham
We went on the Bus a few times to Kingswear and then on the ferry to Dartmouth. We had crab sandwich on the front and watched the steam train coming down to Kingswear. We did go for a sail on the Kingswear Castle the only coal fired paddle steamer in the UK. One day we took the bus to Galmpton and walked down past Greenway House the former residence of Agatha Christie. A long walk thru long wood and then the top ferry to Dartmouth. On another day we came on the bus and ferry
