The town of Altea sits on top of a hill, the top is dominated by the parish church of the Virgin of Consuelo, with a dome covered with blue and white tiles, and a second one, crowned by a small cupola. From the square in front of the church there are great views of the immediate area and mountains. We also had lunch here, managing to sit outside, but it didn’t feel warm at 21c!

Typical whitewashed houses with cobbled streets, many of which have steps or are lined with small miradors (viewing areas) with artists' workshops and studios in this traditional urban space, as well as craft shops.
