Glasgow and Kelvinhall

A beautiful sunny, warm day, back in shorts and T-shirt.  Armed with our day pass (£7.40 each) for the friendly, efficient Scot Rail and subway we headed to the Kelvinhall Museum, free to enter and as we arrived offering a free hours tour.

Lunch in their restaurant before listening to the daily free 30 minute organ recital in the great hall, beautiful.

Time for visiting some more of the artefacts before heading out into the city for some retail therapy and a quick viewing of the NT property Mackintosh’s Willows Tea/Coffee shop.

We had a cuppa in a local church supporting the people of Glasgow.

Exhausted it was time to return to site, Scot rail once again providing an efficient service, has we approached our stop John rang the local taxi service who couldn’t help for 30 plus minutes.  A lovely lady sitting with us said she would drop us back at site “it wasn’t far from her home”!  That’s Glasgow folk for you. Just amazing.
