Tiverton

We came up to Tiverton and on the Saturday we got the tandem out. We had a lovely 16 miles cycle ride along the Grand Western Canal to Sampford Peverell. On the Sunday we went to Church in Tiverton at the fantastic St Paul’s. The weather has been very hot and on tue we cycled to Knightshays. The house was built by Sir John Heathcoat Amory, the grandson of John Heathcoat, creator of the mechanised bobbin lace making machine and owner of a lace factory in Tiverton. The House a sprawling, gothic Victorian National Trust country mansion set in formal gardens and woodland walks.
