Freedom Monument and Veliko Tarnovo

Spent yesterday morning visiting the Freedom Monument high up in the cool hills, bliss. Arriving in Veliko Tarnovo, one of Bulgaria’s oldest towns,

early afternoon we parked up in what we thought would be our overnight stop near the Asenevtsi Monument. We set out to explore the town, but we realised this part of Bulgaria are having a “mini” heatwave! We pushed on but eventually called it a day, it was over 40c, at 6 pm, deciding to go to a campsite, where we are now sitting for a few days!
