Rila Lakes

We arrived in the Rila Mountains early evening Wednesday with the plan to walk the 7 Lakes on Thursday. Sadly, this had to be put off until today! It was worth the wait! We’ve had an amazing day, taking the 20 minutes chairlift up to 7,000 feet from our parking slot at 4,500 feet. We managed 6 of the lakes, the high altitude was giving me a headache! Lunch at 8,000 feet before starting our descent. Back at the Rila Lake chalet and chairlift, it was time for a drink and a chat with a lovely guy from mid Bulgaria.
