Sarajevo

Today we’ve driven over the mountains with fantastic views, for a two night stay here in Sarajevo. We spent 3 hours visiting Travnik, on the way, lovely town.

Sarajevo a city for all. We had a 2 hour very informative, but fun walking tour, did you know that the pigeons disappeared during the Siege but have now returned, so they are known as birds of Peace?

We visited the Tunnel of Hope museum, quite emotional but well worth seeing.

Tunnel of Hope, was a tunnel constructed between March and June 1993 during the Siege of Sarajevo in the midst of the Bosnian War. It was built by the Bosnian Army in order to link the city of Sarajevo, which was entirely cut off by Serbian forces, with Bosnian-held territory on the other side of the Sarajevo Airport, an area controlled by the United Nations.
